YOP Workshop | Professional Development
SFUSD, San Francisco, CA

SFUSD’s School-to-Career office was one of the original western region partners in the initial digital storytelling pilot program. Participation in the Professional Development workshop for YOP Teams work was a natural next step for the district as it continues to build experience with Digital Storytelling as a tool and instructional best practice.

The SFUSD School-to-Career office uses an Academy framework, and the NAF approach in particular, to improve the instructional program. From the district’s perspective, Digital Storytelling process allows for the integration of technology and literacy skills. It serves as a motivator for students and provides teachers with a new, more integrated approach to teaming and teaching across the curriculum.

Workshop participants from Balboa HS’s AOIT, and George Washington’s AOHT took part in the YOP workshop, creating recruitment films for their programs. Click on the links below to view the work they produced.
